Coins may also be available for viewing at shows that we attend prior to the closing of a sale. Please see show schedule at http://coin.com/shows.html.

7. Bidding

Two types of bidding are permitted in the auction. You may bid the next incremental bid indicated on the lot, or any higher bid which is a multiple of the increment. Please do not bid odd amounts such as $101.23, as all uneven bids will be rounded down to the nearest multiple of the minimum increment. When you bid a higher amount than the next incremental bid, your bid is automatically defaulted to become a maximum bid. By placing a maximum bid, the auction program will act on your behalf and increase your bid by the next minimum increment only as needed against other bidders. For example, if the next increment on a lot is $1000 and you place a maximum bid of $1500, your bid will be displayed as only $1000 unless subsequent bidding causes the auction program to be activated on your behalf. Please note that under no circumstances will the maximum bid on a lot be revealed to any bidders; this type of bidding is similar to having an agent acting on your behalf in a live auction room. You will receive email notifications of the status of your bids. You may also decide to increase your bid beyond the maximum amount if you are outbid prior to the close of the auction.

Your bid will be shown as the current high bid on the lot unless there is a previously recorded maximum bid for the same or higher amount. There is no limit on the number of times you may bid on each lot up until the closing. We recommend that you do not wait until the last possible moment to bid, because the bidding will close at precisely the posted time. Please also note that only your bid appears live on the site, your email address and username are not available to the public.

Fixed non-incrementing bidding option. By checking this box above your bid entry and bidding higher than the next increment, your bid will be entered as a fixed bid at that amount rather than as an incremental maximum bid. Please note that just as in a live auction, if you bid an amount higher than the next minimum increment and select the fixed non-incrementing bid option, this bid will be accepted but will not be reduced if it is the winning bid at the close of the auction. Bidders may wish to exercise this option as a strategy to discourage other bidding on the lot. You will receive email verification of your bid and also an email notice if you are subsequently outbid for the lot.

Please note that if you prefer to bid through us rather than directly on-line, please dont hesitate to contact us for assistance and we will set up an account on your behalf. Please bid early if employing our bidding services; we cannot guarantee to be available by phone in the last moments of the sale to execute bids.

Retraction of bids/Errors If you bid on an incorrect lot or otherwise make a mistake in bidding, please contact us via phone or email at your earliest possible convenience and we will correct your bid. It is not possible to alter the bid without our assistance.

Rejection of bids Edward J. Waddell, Ltd. reserves the right to reject and therefore delete any bid which it feels was not made in good faith or where proper credit cannot be established.
