Edward J. Waddell, Ltd.
When selecting a username which identifies you as a bidder, try to pick a
word or name which you will remember. A username consists of any
combination of letters and numbers between 6 and 32 characters that does
not contain a blank space. We suggest that you keep the name to a
reasonable length so that mistakes are not made in typing. Try to pick
something that is unique. If another bidder has selected your username,
then the registration program will ask you to go back and select another
name.
The registration process requires a new auction bidder to formally provide
information to the satisfaction of the firm. Selection of the "new registration"
button on the bottom of the page will start this process by requiring
potential bidders to fill out an on-line form. Be sure to fill out all
information on the form as best as possible. Your e-mail address must be
correct; as you will not be able to participate in the on-line auction without it.
Leave questions and other comments in the comments section. When done
click on the "Register Me" button, which will initiate the registration process.
Approximately within an hour you should receive a confirmation e-mail from the
firm which will specifically provide a confirmation code which you must enter
into the firm's confirmation page. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail
within an hour please contact the firm via phone number or e-mail. Diligently
preserve the confirmation code
and the URL (the Web address in the e-mail) contained in the confirmation
message, as you must re-enter on the confirmation page your username, password
and in addition you must enter in the confirmation code before you are permitted to bid.
After receiving and
noting the confirmation e-mail you must open the confirmation URL either by clicking
on the URL in the e-mail received or by cutting and pasting the Web address (you may also
want to write it down and carefully type the requested information); then open
the specified URL (Web page) in your browser. Remember to type in the information
you receive exactly as provided with the exact upper and lower case characters
as written in confirmation e-mail. Do not type in extra blanks or other characters
not specified either at the beginning of
or at the end of the username, password or confirmation code. When you are fininished
entering the information click the submit button. If your confirmation is successful
you are permitted to bid immediately. If you get an error message please try to re-enter
the confirmation form by repeating the process of getting your registration confirmed.
Selecting a password is similar to selecting a username; it serves as a
check to verify your username. A password consists of any combination of
letters and numbers between 6 and 32 characters that does not contain a
blank space. When you are registering or updating your password
information, the registration program will require that you type in your
password twice. This is to verify that you did not mis-type the password.
Please record your username and password after selecting them for future
reference.
If you want to change your password, please select the "Change
Registration" button from the bottom of the page. Click on the words that say,
"Click here to change your password", which will take you to a new screen
solely dedicated to changing passwords. At this new page enter your username.
Then enter in your new password. Please enter your new password a second time
to verify that it is correct. When you have finished, click on the
"Update Password" button.
If you forget your username or password simply re-register and select a new
username and password combination.
Two types of bidding are permitted in the auction. You may bid the next incremental bid indicated on the lot or any
higher bid which is a multiple of the increment. Please do not bid odd amounts such as $101.23, as all uneven bids will be rounded down to the nearest multiple of the minimum increment. When you bid a higher amount than the next incremental bid, your bid is automatically defaulted to become a maximum bid. By placing a maximum bid, the auction program will act on your behalf and increase your bid by the next minimum increment only as needed against other bidders. For example, if the next increment on a lot is $1000 and you place a maximum bid of $1500, your bid will
be displayed as only $1000 unless subsequent bidding causes the auction program to be activated on your behalf. Please note that under no circumstances will the maximum bid on a lot be revealed to any bidders; this type of bidding is similar to having an agent acting on your behalf in a live auction room. You will receive email notifications of the status of your bids. You may also decide to increase your bid beyond the maximum amount if you are outbid prior to the close of the auction.
Your bid will be shown as the current high bid on the lot unless there is a previously recorded maximum bid for the
same or higher amount. There is no limit on the number of times you may bid on each lot up until the closing. We recommend that you do not wait until the last possible moment to bid, because the bidding will close at precisely the posted time. Please also note that only your bid appears live on the site, your email address and username are not available to the public.
Fixed non-incrementing bidding option. By checking this box above your bid entry and bidding higher than the next increment, your bid will be entered as a fixed bid at that amount rather than as an incremental maximum bid. Please note that just as in a live auction, if you bid an amount higher than the next minimum increment and select the fixed non-incrementing bid option, this bid will be accepted but will not be reduced if it is the winning
bid at the close of the auction. Bidders may wish to exercise this option as a strategy to discourage other bidding on the lot. You will receive email verification of your bid and also an email notice if you are subsequently outbid for the lot.
Please note that if you prefer to bid through us rather than directly on-line, please dont hesitate to contact us for assistance and we will set up an account on your behalf. No phone, fax, or email bids however will be accepted
within 2 hours of closing time.
Retraction of bids/Errors If you mistakenly bid on an incorrect lot or otherwise make a mistake in bidding, please contact us via phone or email at your earliest possible convenience
and we will correct your bid. It is not possible to alter the bid without our assistance.
Rejection of bids Edward J. Waddell, Ltd. reserves the right to reject and therefore delete any bid which it
feels was not made in good faith or where proper credit cannot be established.
